Islamabad Police Arrest 19 Suspects in Crime Crackdown

ISLAMABAD: In a series of operations across the federal capital, Islamabad Police have arrested 19 individuals, including six absconders, as part of a broader crackdown on crime. These efforts, spearheaded by various police stations, led to the recovery of substantial quantities of drugs and firearms.

The operations involved police teams from Kohsar, Karachi Company, Golra, Tarnol, Sabzi Mandi, Sham Colony, Khanna, Koral, Bani Gala, and Shahzad Town. Officers apprehended 13 suspects linked to various criminal activities. The raids resulted in the seizure of 2,441 grams of heroin, 65 grams of ‘Ice’ methamphetamine, six pistols, a gun, and associated ammunition.

Authorities have filed cases against those arrested, with investigations currently underway to uncover further details. Additionally, as part of a targeted effort to apprehend proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams successfully detained six individuals.

This initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aiming to maintain peace and order in the city. The police force reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the community and ensuring public safety.

Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to their local police station or through the emergency helpline, “Pucar-15,” to strengthen community-police collaboration in combating crime.
