Islamabad Police Arrest 19 Suspects in 24-Hour Crime Sweep


Islamabad: In a concerted effort to curb criminal activities, Islamabad Police have arrested 19 individuals in a 24-hour operation, targeting offenses ranging from drug trafficking to illegal possession of firearms.



Teams from the Secretariat, Shalimar, Golra, Sumbal, Noon, Sihala, Nilore, and Bhara Kahu police stations apprehended 18 suspects involved in various illicit activities. Among the seized items were 7,090 grams of heroin, 89 grams of hashish, 52 bottles of liquor, and four pistols with accompanying ammunition.



The operation also included a special campaign aimed at capturing proclaimed offenders and absconders, resulting in the arrest of four additional criminals. Legal proceedings have been initiated against those detained, with investigations currently underway.



Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi emphasized the force’s commitment to maintaining public safety and order. The police’s ongoing crackdown is part of a broader strategy to eliminate crime and ensure peace within the federal capital.



The Islamabad Police have reaffirmed their dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, urging citizens to report any suspicious activities. The public is encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement by using the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to aid in the fight against crime.
