Islamabad Police Arrest 10 in Major Crackdown on Land Grabbing

ISLAMABAD: In a significant move against illegal land occupation, Islamabad Police have arrested 10 individuals accused of forcibly seizing land and intimidating locals. The arrests were announced by SSP Operations Muhammad Shoaib Khan during a press conference held at the Rescue-15 office, where he detailed the operation targeting the land mafia.

The police action, conducted under the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, resulted in the apprehension of suspects Syed Ahmed, Shahid, Wasif Zahoor, Latif, Raja Shehraz, Akhtar Gul, Amir Hussain, Nasir Mehmood, Shabbir Ahmed, and Faisal. These individuals were reportedly involved in illegal land occupation within the jurisdiction of the Nilore police station.

Authorities have registered cases against the accused, recovering a cache of weapons that includes six SMG rifles, a pistol, 800 bullets, and magazines, along with mobile phones and five bundles of wire.

During the press conference, SSP Shoaib emphasized the police’s commitment to eradicating land grabbing activities in Islamabad. He assured the public that such criminal elements would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, stressing that the illegal occupation of property would not be tolerated.

The SSP Operations also encouraged the public to report any land grabbing activities to local police stations or via the ‘Pucar-15’ helpline, promising that all legitimate complaints would be addressed. The crackdown is part of a broader effort to ensure the safety and rights of property owners in the region.
