ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have successfully apprehended a key member of a notorious snatcher gang, as part of a broader crackdown on criminal activities in the federal capital. Utilizing both technical and human resources, the Koral station team arrested Muhammad Pervez, recovering motorbikes, cash, mobile phones, and weapons with ammunition from his possession.
The police have registered cases against the accused, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further links and potential accomplices. This arrest comes under the special directives of DIG Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, who has launched an extensive operation targeting individuals involved in robbery, snatching, and other serious offenses.
This initiative has reportedly resulted in a noticeable decline in major criminal incidents across Islamabad. The DIG has emphasized the importance of continued strict action against those exploiting citizens and has called for public cooperation. Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activities or objects to the police station or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
