Islamabad, In an effort to strengthen ties between law enforcement and the community, the Islamabad Police, following directives from Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, teamed up with Bahria University to host a seminar on community policing. The event aimed to foster dialogue and enhance the relationship between police officers and the public, particularly focusing on the role of the police in community development and justice provision.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the seminar featured discussions led by high-ranking officials including DIG Law & Order Shakir Hussain Dawar and DIG Security Muhammad Jawad Tariq, alongside academic contributions from Bahria University’s Senior Assistant Professor Khalid Mumtaz and Senior Associate Professor Sehar Zeest. The interactive session allowed students to engage directly with police officials, posing questions about the police’s role in societal issues and public justice.
Participants commended the efforts of the Islamabad Police in maintaining order, reducing crime, and managing traffic, reflecting positively on the impact of community policing strategies. Police representatives highlighted the pivotal role of students in national development, identifying them as crucial partners in fostering community relations.
The seminar concluded with the exchange of commemorative shields between police officers and university professors, symbolizing the collaborative spirit of the event and the shared commitment to community policing.
