Islamabad Minister of State for IT Vows to Boost Sector to $25 Billion in Exports


Islamabad, At the HBL P@SHA CXO Meetup, Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima, emphasized the crucial role of technology in economic development and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting the IT sector. Addressing the assembly, she outlined the government’s strategy to harness Pakistan’s young, tech-savvy population and vibrant startup ecosystem to drive digital transformation and economic growth.



According to Press Information Department, Minister Fatima highlighted the government’s target to escalate IT exports to $25 billion, reflecting the ambitious vision of the Prime Minister’s National Digitalization Plan. She discussed the ongoing digitalization of the economy, governance, and society, aiming to foster a more transparent and efficient government through e-government solutions. The Minister stressed the need for collaborative efforts to build a digital future that is inclusive, sustainable, and secure. The event also featured talks by Additional Secretary (Incharge) MoITT Capt (Retd) Muhammad Mahmood, and Chairman P@SHA Mohammad Zohaib Khan, who further underscored the IT sector’s potential for innovation and foreign investment attraction.
