Islamabad: In a significant move to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (M/o FE and PT) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate a Joint IT Internships Program. This partnership is designed to enhance the employability of IT students and strengthen their practical skills through industry exposure.
According to Press Information Department, the MoU was signed by the Deputy Secretary (FE) of M/o FE and PT and the Member (IT) of the CDA, in the presence of Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Secretary M/o FE and PT. The agreement establishes a 24-month collaborative effort, during which the CDA will offer 10 paid internships each year. These internships, lasting six months each, will be available to students enrolled in Hi-Impact IT Labs across 16 Degree Colleges under the M/o FE and PT, with each intern receiving a monthly stipend of PKR 40,000. Upon completion, participants will also receive certificates from CDA, recognizing their hands-on experience and contribution.
The initiative is aimed at preparing students for the professional IT job market and contributing to the overall growth of the IT sector in Pakistan.
