Islamabad Hosts National Conference on Sustainable Development Goals


Islamabad, The Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives held the National SDGs Conference 2024 in Islamabad, convening a broad spectrum of stakeholders including experts, government officials, and international representatives to forge effective strategies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.



According to Press Information Department, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal opened the conference, stressing the importance of aligning Pakistan’s development policies with the SDGs to enhance sustainable practices across economic, environmental, and social domains.



The conference emphasized multi-stakeholder collaboration and featured focused sessions on diverse aspects of sustainable development. Secretary Planning Awais Manzur Sumra called for a critical reassessment of current SDG implementation strategies to better integrate sustainable principles. Detailed discussions covered enhancing environmental policies, empowering women in the workforce, and expanding access to education and health services, reflecting a comprehensive approach to achieving the SDGs in Pakistan.
