Islamabad Hosts International Summit on Religious Freedom and Interfaith Harmony


Islamabad, The ‘International Religious Freedom and Interfaith Harmony Summit 2024’ was recently held in the city, organized by the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) and All Neighbours America. The summit aimed to foster dialogue and mutual understanding among diverse religious and cultural communities, both within Pakistan and internationally.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the summit attracted global leaders, religious figures, government officials, and representatives from civil society, providing a crucial platform for addressing challenges to religious freedom and combating extremism and intolerance globally. The event underscored the importance of collaboration across different faiths and cultures to enhance peace and coexistence.



Participants included a significant delegation from the United States, which also visited Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, and Jaranwala as part of their engagement in Pakistan. Members of the delegation highlighted their positive interactions with various religious communities across Pakistan, noting the freedom and non-discrimination they observed in the practice of religious rituals.



The U.S. delegation commended the efforts made by Pakistan in providing facilities to non-Muslims and promoting a peaceful coexistence among all religions, reflecting on the country’s commitment to peace and tolerance. They expressed their best wishes for Pakistan’s continued progress in fostering an inclusive and harmonious environment.
