Islamabad Enhances Airport Screenings to Mitigate Mpox Virus Risk


Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration is ramping up its safety protocols at Islamabad International Airport in response to the increasing threat of the Mpox virus, aiming to protect the health of its citizens and prevent the spread of the virus.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a spokesperson for the ICT administration stated that Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, has ordered health officials to rigorously enforce the screening process for all incoming passengers. The health department’s staff is now actively screening every individual arriving from abroad to identify and manage potential cases of the Mpox virus effectively.



This preventive measure underscores the administration’s commitment to maintaining public health safety amid growing global health concerns.
