Islamabad Embassy Commemorates Kashmir Black Day with Event in Tehran

ISLAMABAD, The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Tehran marked the Kashmir Black Day with a dedicated event to underscore the Pakistan government’s and its citizenry’s support for the Kashmiri people amidst the ongoing dispute over India’s purported illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. The gathering was attended by members of the Pakistani community in Tehran, inclusive of students, media personnel, and senior embassy officials.

According to a news release by the Press International Department, during the event, official statements from the President, Prime Minister, and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan were shared. Ambassador of Pakistan in Tehran, H.E. Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, shed light on the longstanding issue, asserting that for over seven decades, the Kashmiri people have been subjected to what he termed as India’s state-sponsored acts of terror. He cited significant human rights violations, pointing particularly to the alleged exacerbation of these issues by the BJP-RSS under the “Hindu Rashta” initiative. This project, the ambassador indicated, is aimed at shifting the demographic landscape of the region in question.

The Ambassador took the platform to amplify Pakistan’s appeal to global leaders, the broader international community, including the United Nations, and human rights agencies, urging them to prompt India to cease what he termed as the aggressive use of force against the Kashmiri populace. He emphasized the need for addressing the Kashmir dispute in line with the charter of the United Nations and the stipulations of various UNSC Resolutions.

In his address, the Ambassador also conveyed gratitude to Iranian leaders and the nation’s civil society for their consistent backing of the Kashmir issue and the Palestinians. Throughout the event, several speakers denounced the ongoing hardships and alleged human rights infractions reportedly carried out by Indian forces in IIOJK. Additionally, a photographic display showcased in the embassy’s Chancery portrayed the experiences of the Kashmiri people under the present circumstances. The gathering concluded with a dedicated prayer session, hoping for relief for the Kashmiris and their eventual liberation.
