Islamabad Celebrates Successful Hosting of SCO Summit


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi extended congratulations to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the nation for the successful execution of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held recently in Islamabad. The minister lauded the comprehensive efforts of multiple government bodies which ensured the event’s success, marking a significant diplomatic achievement for Pakistan.



According to Press Information Department, Minister Naqvi praised the collaborative work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and the Islamabad Police among others. He highlighted the exceptional contributions of the Pakistan Army, Islamabad Police, Rangers, and Frontier Corps for their security measures which he described as foolproof.



The Interior Minister specifically acknowledged the Chairman of the CDA and the Inspector General of the Islamabad Police for their pivotal roles in the summit’s logistics and security arrangements. He noted that the CDA was instrumental in enhancing the city’s infrastructure and aesthetics, contributing significantly to the summit’s favorable impression on international delegates.



Minister Naqvi emphasized that the summit not only bolstered Pakistan’s global image but also reflected positively on the government’s foreign policy. The event, as per Naqvi, is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s economic, political, and diplomatic ties with the SCO member states, opening new avenues for trade and investment.



The successful hosting of the SCO summit, as stated by Minister Naqvi, was a result of exemplary inter-ministerial and institutional cooperation, showcasing Pakistan’s capability to manage international events effectively. He commended all personnel involved for their dedication and continuous efforts throughout the event, predicting that the positive outcomes of the summit would benefit Pakistan in the foreseeable future.
