ISLAMABAD, The recent 24 hours saw a vigorous campaign by Islamabad Capital Police, resulting in the arrest of 11 individuals and the seizure of illicit drugs, alcohol, and firearms from their possession.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, this surge in law enforcement action is a direct consequence of the specific instructions from Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, targeting criminal activity in the city. Among the detainees, the Karachi Company police team took into custody three individuals, Noman Hassan, Shahbaz Masih, and Haider Abbas, recovering 220 grams of heroin and 14 bottles of wine. The Kohsar police apprehended Zafar Masih and Usman Iqbal, seizing 90 liters of alcohol. Other arrests included individuals involved in illegally refilling gas cylinders and those possessing unlicensed firearms. All arrestees are now facing legal actions, with investigations still ongoing. Emphasizing the city’s security, ICCPO Dr. Khan stated, “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.”
