Islamabad Capital Police Ramp Up Action Against Smoke Emitting Vehicles

Islamabad, Islamabad Capital Police have intensified their crackdown on smoke emitting vehicles as part of their commitment to environmental protection. This initiative, directed by Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, aims to reduce environmental pollution in the city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the police force has taken legal action against 423 vehicles over the past five days for emitting smoke, with 93 vehicles impounded at various police stations. A special campaign against smoke emitting vehicles will continue until January. All Zonal DSPs have been instructed to take stern action against such vehicles. Mobile squads have been formed to patrol different areas and boulevards of the city, targeting vehicles contributing to smoke pollution. These squads, established under the directives of ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, are conducting regular checks and issuing fines to vehicles causing environmental harm. The initiative’s goal is to ensure a clean environment for the citizens and protect their health.
