Islamabad Capital Police Outlines Security Measures for 2024 General Elections

Islamabad, In preparation for the upcoming 2024 General Elections, the Islamabad Capital Police has announced a comprehensive security plan to ensure a peaceful and orderly voting process in the federal capital. The plan involves the deployment of a significant number of security personnel and the implementation of strict surveillance measures at polling stations throughout Islamabad.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, a total of 6,500 police officers, supplemented by 1,000 members of the Frontier Constabulary, 1,500 Rangers, and officials from the Pakistan Army, will be stationed at polling stations to oversee the security operations. These officers have already been positioned at their designated polling stations, where they will also remain overnight to guarantee the safety and security of the electoral process.

In addition to personnel deployment, a central control room has been established within Safe City Islamabad to monitor the election proceedings. The Islamabad Capital Police has committed to enforcing the regulations set forth by the Election Commission of Pakistan, ensuring that no violations occur. Any display of arms, instances of aerial firing, or riotous behavior will be met with legal action. Furthermore, measures to facilitate smooth traffic flow and adequate parking arrangements have been planned.

To support transparency and global observation of the electoral process, surveillance cameras will be installed at all sensitive polling stations. Journalists, foreign observers, and observation teams will receive professional assistance from the police to perform their duties effectively.

The primary objective of these extensive preparations is to prioritize the safety of citizens and the conduct of peaceful elections within Islamabad, reflecting the Capital Police’s dedication to maintaining order and democracy.
