Islamabad, In a decisive move to enhance road safety and orderliness in rural areas, the Islamabad Capital Police initiated a significant operation against encroachment and double parking. The operation, led by the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, targets key rural locations prone to traffic disruptions and unauthorized encroachments.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the enforcement drive took place in areas including Lehtrar Road, Tramari Chowk, Ali Pur, Sultana Foundation, Khanna Pul, and Bara Kahu. A specially assembled squad of officers and officials has been deployed to conduct these operations across major roads and marketplaces, focusing on issuing fines, impounding vehicles, and dismantling illegal encroachments.
During the campaign, the police utilized forklifts to remove vehicles obstructing roadways and relocated them to official parking spaces. Vehicle owners received warnings against improper parking practices, with the police cautioning that future violations would result in stringent legal consequences.
The operation also aims at broader objectives beyond immediate traffic management. By removing obstacles and enforcing parking regulations, the initiative seeks to safeguard citizens’ lives and property, reduce the risk of accidents, and ensure smoother traffic flow. The Islamabad Capital Police have announced plans to extend this campaign to other areas of the capital, emphasizing their commitment to eradicating unlawful encroachments and parking infringements citywide.
This concerted effort by the Islamabad Capital Police underscores a significant step towards promoting a safer, more regulated traffic environment in Islamabad’s rural regions, with the promise of expanding these measures to enhance urban mobility and safety across the entire city.
