Islamabad, 15 Oct 2023: In a proactive initiative to bolster safety and security within the capital, the Islamabad Capital Police have amplified efforts in their “Knock the Door” campaign, targeting the registration of tenants and domestic workers throughout the city. The campaign, orchestrated under the directives of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, aims to maintain peace and order by closely monitoring individuals who might be involved in suspicious activities.
The public relations officer stated that as part of this campaign, several teams from the Islamabad Capital Police have been mobilized, conducting door-to-door checks to register tenants and domestic workers. The exercise also serves as an opportunity for police officials to connect with citizens, understanding any concerns they might have.
A significant milestone in the campaign has been achieved by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Islamabad, which has successfully documented the details of 167 domestic workers and tenants from 459 residences within the jurisdiction of Bhara Kahu Police Station.
Emphasizing the critical importance of this campaign, the public relations officer highlighted its objective of preventing potential mishaps and ensuring a close watch on elements that might disrupt the peace of the federal capital. Citizens have been further advised to request identification from any individual, especially those in civilian attire, approaching their homes for data collection purposes.
The campaign also addresses the risks posed by unregistered tenants and employees, who might exploit their anonymity to partake in illegal activities such as theft and robbery. Through these robust measures, the Islamabad Capital Police are committed to leveraging all resources at their disposal to offer a safe and secure environment for the capital’s residents.
