Islamabad, In response to the directives of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital Police have intensified their security measures in the high-security zone, particularly during the hearings of significant cases in superior courts.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the teams deployed in the high-security zone are working diligently to ensure effective security during these crucial court hearings. Senior police officers have instructed officers and personnel on duty to prioritize the security of important government offices, superior courts, and embassies located within the zone.
The directives emphasize the need for officers and personnel to perform their duties with the utmost dedication, leaving no room for negligence or complacency. This heightened security stance reflects the Islamabad Capital Police’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the area, especially during sensitive legal proceedings.
Additionally, the police force is taking all necessary steps to protect the lives and property of citizens. Any disturbance to public peace is declared intolerable, and the police are on high alert to prevent any potential security threats.
The public is also encouraged to play a role in maintaining security. Citizens are urged to cooperate with the police and to report any suspicious activities or objects either to their local police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or the “ICT-15” application. New York, On the occasion of the Right to Self-Determination Day, Ambassador Munir Akram, the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, emphasized the pivotal role of self-determination in resolving conflicts and human rights violations, particularly in Kashmir and Palestine.
According to Pakistan Mission to United Nations, Ambassador Akram’s message underscored that the suppression of the right to self-determination leads to conflicts, as evidenced in the situations in Kashmir and Palestine. He pointed out the international community’s responsibility to end the foreign occupation and suppression of people in these regions by India and Israel, respectively.
Despite India’s refusal to comply with UN resolutions in Kashmir, Ambassador Akram lauded the resilience and ongoing struggle of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir for their right to self-determination and liberation. He emphasized that lasting peace in South Asia hinges on the Kashmiri people’s ability to exercise this right as stipulated in Security Council resolutions.
Akram reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to unwavering diplomatic, moral, and political support for the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for freedom, marking the day as a renewal of this pledge.
Lahore, The Punjab Police, under the guidance of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, has expanded its online services for driving licenses, offering citizens the convenience of renewing their licenses from home. In collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the Punjab Traffic Police has innovated the driving license system to include this new feature.
According to Punjab Police, the new service allows citizens to self-renew their regular and international driving licenses online, adding to the existing services of obtaining learner licenses and their renewal through the internet. On the launch day of this service, a significant number of citizens utilized it: 842 applications were received for the renewal of regular driving licenses, 10 for international licenses, 17,566 for new learner permits, and 3,295 for renewing learner licenses.
IG Punjab highlighted that the introduction of online renewal services for regular and international licenses is a significant step towards enhancing citizen convenience. This move is expected to reduce the footfall at service centers and other traffic offices, streamlining the process and saving time for the public.
This initiative reflects the Punjab Police’s commitment to leveraging technology for efficient public service delivery and marks a significant improvement in the driving license management system in the region.
