Islamabad, In response to directives from Islamabad Capital City Police Officer Dr. Akbar Nasir, Islamabad Capital Police have significantly bolstered security protocols throughout the federal capital. The measures are aimed at mitigating potential risks and maintaining public order, including the enforcement of Section 144, which prohibits demonstrations and gatherings within the city limits.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the heightened security framework also restricts political activities in Islamabad, permitting only individuals with official invitations to approach Parliament House. These invitees are required to confirm the validity of their invitations prior to their attendance at the National Assembly session, as certain invitations have been revoked.

The police have emphasized that authorization from SSP Operations is mandatory for any activities within the High-Security Zone, underscoring the rigorous surveillance and monitoring being conducted through the Safe City initiative. The statement further warned that legal consequences await those found engaging in unauthorized actions.

The Islamabad Capital Police’s initiative reflects a comprehensive approach to safeguarding the lives and properties of its citizens. Lahore, In a comprehensive effort to bolster public service and security, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, chaired a crucial meeting to assess the progress of serious and high-profile cases and to outline strategic initiatives aimed at improving police performance across the province. The meeting underscored a commitment to supporting the Chief Minister of Punjab’s Ramadan relief initiative, empowering women in the police force, and expediting the resolution of critical cases.

According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar emphasized the department’s dedication to providing full cooperation and security for the Chief Minister Punjab’s Ramadan relief package titled Nigheban. He also highlighted the ongoing efforts to empower women police officers and officials through superior training and skills development, reflecting the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab for a more effective and enthusiastic public service delivery by the Punjab Police.

The meeting focused on several key initiatives including the speedy resolution of cases involving rape and violence against women and children, upgrading the anti-riot force with modern training and resources, and extending the Organized Crime Unit to all districts to combat heinous crimes. Dr. Anwar also directed for the expedited disposal of pending honey trap and kidnapping for ransom cases, and announced plans to enhance the department’s focus on cybercrime.

In addition to case management, Dr. Anwar called for the use of body cameras during police raids to ensure transparency and accountability, and stressed the importance of improving response times to emergency calls received via the helpline 15. The meeting also reviewed the police’s strategy for maintaining constant contact with plaintiffs in cases of robbery, murder, and multiple murders, and reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards gang rape and accidents caused by kite and metal strings.

The assembly of senior officers, including the Additional IG South Punjab, CCPO Lahore, and other regional and district police officers, participated through video link, highlighting the collaborative approach being adopted to address public safety and crime across Punjab. The IG Punjab further announced the re-initiation of a volunteer program and plans to upgrade both the front and back ends of police station operations, including improvements to the driving licensing process by supervisory and traffic police officers.
