Islamabad Capital Police Hosts Foreign Delegation at Safe City Project

ISLAMABAD, A delegation of foreign teachers and students were hosted by the Islamabad Capital City Police at the Safe City Project, showcasing the state-of-the-art security infrastructure of the capital, a public relations officer reported today.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the visit was organized under the directives of the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan. The delegation was given a comprehensive tour of the command-and-control center, data hub unit, operations center, and the various technological advancements utilized by the Safe City project.

During their visit, the group was briefed on the integral role of the Safe City Islamabad initiative in enhancing the functions of different departments. These include the Police Operations Center, Emergency Control Center, Data Hub Unit, Dispatch Control Center, and the implementation of systems like the E-Challan and the “Pucar-15” helpline. The briefing focused on both the procedural aspects and the tangible benefits that these services offer.

The delegation received detailed information on the impact of Safe City’s cameras throughout Islamabad. These cameras, including those with facial recognition capabilities at the city’s entry and exit points, contribute significantly to crime prevention and the safety of citizens. The efficacy of these systems is highlighted by the statistic that 42% of crimes in Islamabad are solved using resources from the Safe City Command and Control Center.

In addition to the technology demonstrations, the delegation had the opportunity to meet with the Chief Police Officer (CPO) of the Safe City project and the Traffic division, further discussing the practical benefits of the technology in the city’s policing.

The visiting teachers and students praised the sophisticated technical systems of the Islamabad Capital Police and noted the advantages such systems bring to maintaining public order and safety. They also expressed special thanks to ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan and his team for facilitating an enlightening and successful visit.
