Islamabad,The Islamabad Capital Police have arrested 29 individuals, including 10 professional beggars, in a significant crackdown on criminal activities within the city over the past 24 hours, as stated by a public relations officer of the department. The operation, under the direct orders of the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, led to the recovery of drugs and weapons.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, The intensified crackdown is a part of their ongoing efforts to eradicate crime from the city. During this operation, various police teams conducted targeted actions in different areas, leading to multiple arrests and seizures.
The Aabpara police team arrested Hamza Noor and Naseer Masih, recovering 535 grams of heroin and a 30 bore pistol. In a separate incident, the Ramna police apprehended Amjad Khan with 22 grams of ice. The Tarnol police detained Umar Farooq, Raees Khan, and Zarmena, seizing 2,325 grams of hashish and a 30 bore pistol. Additionally, Muhammad Yahya and Riaz were arrested by the Noon police with two 9mm pistols, while Rizwan Munir and Faisal Younas were taken into custody by the Khanna police with two 30 bore pistols.
Naeem Ahmad was arrested by the Koral police team and found in possession of 320 grams of hashish. The Sihala police apprehended Arbaz with an iron punch. The Humak police team detained Shaukat Masih, Nabeel Javed, and Bashir Masih, confiscating 49 liters of alcohol, while Awais Akram was arrested by the Bhara Kahu police with 30 liters of alcohol. Muhammad Sajid, involved in illegal petrol selling, was also apprehended. The Shahzad Town police nabbed Ahtisham Farooq and Muhammad Taimoor with two bottles of wine.
Cases against all the arrested individuals have been registered, and further investigations are ongoing. As part of the operation, 10 professional beggars were also arrested and charged under the beggar act.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has instructed the police officials to intensify their efforts against criminal elements. He emphasized that the safety and security of citizens are paramount and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.
