Islamabad Capital Police Crack Down on Smoke-Emitting Vehicles

Islamabad, November 8, 2023: In a move to address the increasing concerns of smog and environmental pollution, the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has issued a new directive that effectively bans the entry of all smoke-emitting vehicles into the capital city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the ban includes private, government, and commercial vehicles alike, reflecting a rigorous stance against contributors to air pollution. ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan underscored the urgency of these measures to protect the city’s environment and the health of its citizens during the winter months when smog levels traditionally rise.

Legal measures are being taken against vehicles found to be in violation of this directive. Furthermore, the police are calling on citizens to support the effort by cooperating and reporting any emergencies or violations through the “Pucar-15” helpline or the official Islamabad Capital Police “15” app.
