Islamabad, In a significant crackdown, the Islamabad Capital Police arrested 35 outlaws, including six professional beggars, over the past 24 hours, seizing drugs and weapons in the process. This operation is part of an intensified effort to eradicate criminal activities in the city, as directed by Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation led to various significant arrests and seizures. The Secretariat police team apprehended an individual named Waqar Ahmed, recovering 1270 grams of hashish. The Kohsar police team detained Saad Ul Haq, seizing a 9mm pistol. Additionally, the Karachi Company police team arrested Muhammad Hafeez and Sohail Masih, confiscating 10 liters of alcohol, and apprehended Muhammad Adnan and Abdul Rehman for illegal gas cylinder refilling.
Other significant arrests included Azan Ashraf, found with 615 grams of hashish by the Ramna police team, and Usman, apprehended by the Golra police team with 625 grams of heroin. The Tarnol police team detained Liaqat, seizing 1,120 grams of heroin. The Sabzi Mandi, Shams Colony, Noon, Humak, Pulgran, Nilore, Shahzad Town, and Bani Gala police teams also made notable arrests for various offenses including illegal alcohol possession, selling petrol unlawfully, and illegal gas cylinder refilling.
In the ongoing operation against professional begging, eight beggars were arrested and cases were filed under the beggar act. Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, emphasizing the importance of public safety, instructed the police officials to intensify their crackdown on criminal elements. He stressed that ensuring the safety and security of citizens is the primary goal and that no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.
