Islamabad, In a significant crackdown, the Islamabad Capital Police have arrested 29 individuals, including 10 professional beggars, and recovered drugs and weapons from their possession. This operation comes as part of the intensified efforts by the police to eliminate crime in the city, as directed by Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, as detailed by a public relations officer of the Islamabad Capital Police, include various individuals found in possession of heroin, ice, hashish, alcohol, pistols, and other illegal items. Notable apprehensions were made by teams from Aabpara, Ramna, Tarnol, Noon, Khanna, Koral, Sihala, Humak, Bhara Kahu, and Shahzad Town police stations.
Cases have been registered against all the arrested individuals, and further investigations are ongoing. The operation also included a crackdown on professional beggars in different areas of the city, with cases registered under the beggar act.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has directed the police officials to further intensify efforts against criminal elements, emphasizing that the safety and security of citizens are the foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
