Islamabad: In a joint effort to provide quality meat to the residents, the civil administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have committed to improving the infrastructure and monitoring of local slaughterhouse facilities.
According to Capital Development Authority announcement issued on 10 July 2024, the agreement was reached during a meeting between CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and Commissioner Rawalpindi Abdul Aamir Khattak. The discussion focused on addressing urban challenges and enhancing critical infrastructure in both cities. The meeting underscored the necessity for stringent quality standards at the slaughterhouses, with plans for joint monitoring by officials from both Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The officials also decided to jointly monitor the Islamabad vegetable market to better control prices and enhance service delivery to the community. This coordinated approach is expected to ensure more effective oversight and improved public services for the twin cities’ residents.
