Islamabad and Amman Commit to Enhanced Economic Collaboration


Islamabad: Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr. Ahad Khan Cheema, and Jordanian Ambassador, Dr. Maen Khreasat, engaged in a pivotal meeting at the Prime Minister’s office aimed at bolstering economic cooperation between Pakistan and Jordan. The discussions centered on enhancing trade, investment, and educational exchanges. Both officials expressed a commitment to strengthen the Joint Ministerial Commission and explore new areas of partnership, including textiles and agriculture.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting highlighted the existing robust relations between the two countries and identified significant opportunities in Pakistan’s textile and garment sectors. Ambassador Khreasat acknowledged the benefits of Pakistani educational scholarships under the Pakistan Technical Assistance Program and expressed interest in broadening the range of disciplines available to Jordanian students. The meeting also addressed potential cooperation in cultural exchanges, sports, and further educational collaborations.



Key outcomes from the discussions included a commitment to hold the next session of the Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad in early 2025 and plans to facilitate a meeting of the Joint Business Council. Both sides reaffirmed their dedication to fostering economic growth and deepening bilateral ties through enhanced collaboration in various sectors.
