Islamabad All Parties Conference Condemns Israeli Actions and Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza

Islamabad: In a unanimous declaration from the All Parties Conference, political representatives across Pakistan have issued a strong condemnation against Israel’s actions in Palestine, particularly highlighting the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The declaration, passed in Islamabad on October 7, 2024, criticizes Israel for its aggression and violations of international law, and calls for an immediate ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian aid to the affected regions.

According to Press Information Department, the declaration encompasses several critical points, including the condemnation of the loss of over 42,000 lives, mostly women and children, in what is described as a genocidal campaign by Israel. The representatives also denounce the attacks on civilian infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, and places of worship, and the impediment of aid workers and journalists in Gaza. The document demands an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, lifting of the siege of Gaza, and provision of unimpeded humanitarian and medical aid to the region.

The conference also urges the international community to take decisive actions to prevent further destabilization in the Middle East, including steps to prevent further Israeli aggression against Lebanon and other regional countries. It calls on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene an emergency summit to address these issues and underscores the need for unity among Islamic nations.

Additionally, the declaration supports the ongoing political and diplomatic efforts by various international bodies, including the OIC, the League of Arab States, and the United Nations, aimed at resolving the situation in occupied Palestine and ensuring regional peace and stability.

The resolution recalls various international and national responses to the conflict, including a recent UN General Assembly resolution and a Joint Communiqué of the Arab-Islamic summit, which called for an embargo on arms and ammunition exports to Israel. The declaration also highlights the role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees (UNRWA) in providing relief to the displaced Palestinian population.

Further, the declaration affirms Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause through political, diplomatic, moral, and humanitarian support and calls for continued humanitarian aid to the region. It also reaffirms the right of the people of Kashmir to self-determination, linking it to the broader theme of support for oppressed populations.

The All Parties Conference has decided to observe November 29, 2024, as a Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, emphasizing Pakistan’s continued support for their cause.
