Ishaq Dar to lead Pakistan delegation at 15th OIC Summit in Banjul


Banjul, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar will head the Pakistan delegation at the upcoming 15th Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit. The two-day event will focus on pressing issues facing the Muslim world, including the situation in Gaza, and is scheduled to take place this Saturday in Banjul, the Gambia.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, ahead of the Summit, Dar will participate in the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on May 2-3. The meeting will be crucial for discussing and finalizing the agenda and outcome documents for the Summit. The Summit convenes at a critical time as it aims to address the ongoing conflict in Gaza and foster a unified approach to the Palestinian question.



During the Summit, Deputy Prime Minister Dar will present Pakistan’s views on various significant issues, such as the genocide in Gaza, the self-determination rights in Jammu and Kashmir, the unity of the Muslim Ummah, rising Islamophobia, and challenges like climate change and terrorism. He will advocate for collective solutions to these challenges. Additionally, Dar is slated to conduct bilateral meetings with other leaders and Foreign Ministers on the Summit sidelines.
