Iranian President Syed Ibrahim Raisi Receives Warm Welcome from CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Arrival in Lahore


Lahore, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended a warm welcome to Iranian President Syed Ibrahim Raisi as he arrived at Allama Iqbal Airport with his delegation. The Iranian President, accompanied by his team, was greeted by the Chief Minister and other high-ranking officials on reaching Lahore.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Federal Minister-in-waiting Riaz Hussain Pirzada and Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb were also part of the welcoming party. Additional dignitaries who welcomed the Iranian delegation included Senator Pervez Rasheed, Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rahman, Provincial Minister for Secondary Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin, Provincial Minister for Industries Chaudhry Shafey Hussain, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, and Iranian Consul General in Lahore Mehran Mawahid Far.



The warm reception underscored the close ties between Pakistan and Iran, with both sides emphasizing the importance of maintaining and enhancing these relationships. The arrival of President Raisi in Lahore marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations and fostering further collaboration on economic, cultural, and regional initiatives.



The visit included discussions on various topics to further strengthen the ties between the two countries. The Chief Minister’s warm welcome set the tone for the rest of the Iranian delegation’s visit, emphasizing the significance of the relationship between Pakistan and Iran.
