Islamabad, The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, has forecasted a significant increase in trade between Pakistan and Iran, potentially reaching up to five billion dollars in the near future. During a meeting with Islamabad’s business community, the Ambassador emphasized the untapped potential of bilateral trade, suggesting that it could double through enhanced air, rail, and maritime integration. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to improve transit trade, including the opening of 12 border trade markets, half of which are already operational.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Moghadam’s discussions with the business sector underscored the strategic importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) for both Pakistan and Iran. He pointed out the significant opportunities for Pakistan in the Iranian market, particularly in agriculture and industry. This projection of increased trade volume underscores the deepening economic ties between the two nations and the mutual benefits of their continued cooperation.
