Iranian Delegation and Pakistan’s Parliamentary Group Strengthen Ties


Islamabad: The Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group convened a meeting with an Iranian parliamentary delegation, underscoring a mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation. Chaired by Syed Naveed Qamar, the session focused on fortifying the historical and cultural ties between the two nations.



The Iranian delegation, led by Mr. Fida Hussain Maliki, engaged with key Pakistani parliamentary members to discuss avenues for strengthening trade and cultural relations. Both sides emphasized the importance of sustained parliamentary exchanges to promote dialogue and collaboration in areas such as trade, energy, and education.



Mr. Qamar highlighted the necessity of continued cooperation to address shared challenges and reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to advance bilateral initiatives. He proposed regular reciprocal visits to ensure the continuity of cooperation.



Mr. Maliki expressed gratitude for the hospitality received and highlighted the potential for expanding barter trade and developing joint border markets. He called for practical measures to enhance trade volume and connectivity between the two countries.



The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to regional peace and prosperity, aiming to strengthen the historic friendship through practical parliamentary cooperation and enhanced economic linkages.
