Tehran: Iran has urged the United Nations Security Council to hold an emergency session in response to recent attacks by the United States on its nuclear facilities.
In a formal letter to the council, Iran’s UN Envoy, Saeed Iravani, described the U.S. actions as unprovoked airstrikes. The communication emphasized that the sites in question are under continuous monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Iravani highlighted that the nuclear facilities adhere to the guidelines established by the Safeguards Agreement and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
The request for a Security Council meeting underscores the escalating tensions between the two nations and Iran’s demand for international intervention.
