Iqra Fund Enhances Education in Northern Pakistan, Empowers Local Communities

Washington DC, The Iqra Fund, under the leadership of Genevieve Walsh, continues to make significant strides in empowering communities in Northern Pakistan through education, particularly for girls. The NGO has established 20 schools and enrolled over 4,000 students, with a special focus on first-generation learners.

According to Embassy of Pakistan – Washington D.C, Genevieve Walsh met with Ambassador Masood Khan to discuss the progress and future goals of the Iqra Fund. Walsh shared insights from her journey since 2007, inspired by a local girl named Iqra, and outlined the transformative impact of the Fund’s work, including the creation of educational opportunities for women and differently abled students.

Ambassador Khan praised Walsh’s contributions, noting her role as a symbol of the friendship between Pakistan and the United States. He assured ongoing support for the Iqra Fund’s initiatives, which aim to foster educational development and create resilient community leaders in Pakistan’s remote, mountainous regions.
