Iqbal Day Commemorated Nationwide with Special Programs

Sialkot: The 148th birth anniversary of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal is being marked with national fervor today. Dr. Iqbal, widely revered as the Poet of the East, was born in Sialkot on November 9, 1877, and is celebrated for his contributions to awakening the Muslims of the Subcontinent through his poetry and political insight.

His most notable contribution came in 1930 with his address at Allahabad, where he proposed the creation of a separate nation for Muslims, which later became Pakistan. This address is credited with providing a clear direction and identity for the Muslims of the Subcontinent.

Radio Pakistan is airing special programs to pay tribute to Allama Iqbal’s poetry and philosophical thoughts. These broadcasts aim to highlight the enduring impact of his work on the cultural and political landscape of the region.
