Islamabad: The Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO Pakistan) underscored the importance of intellectual property (IP) rights in enhancing innovation and economic growth within the agriculture and food sectors at the 2nd International Food and Agriculture Exhibition in Karachi.
According to Press Information Department, Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal praised IPO Pakistan’s efforts at an IPO stall during the event, acknowledging the pivotal role of IP in fostering innovation. The exhibition also featured a panel discussion with experts, including Ms. Saima Kanwal and Ms. Shams-un-Nisa, who explored the impact of IP protection on agriculture and food security, advocating for increased public-private collaboration and heightened IP awareness among farmers and agribusinesses.
Ambassador (r) Farukh Amil, Chair of IPO Pakistan, highlighted the necessity for innovative Agri-tech solutions to overcome challenges in agriculture. He emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships with Provincial Investment Chiefs to leverage IP for sustainable economic advancement.
