Lahore: Chairperson of the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) Pakistan, Farukh Amil, emphasized the essential role of intellectual property (IP) in strengthening Pakistan’s business environment during a meeting with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Abuzar Shad. Highlighting the need to protect brands, trademarks, and innovations, Amil underscored the importance of fostering an IP-conscious culture to support economic growth and encourage foreign investment.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Amil advocated for Pakistan’s accession to key international IP treaties, suggesting this step could enhance foreign investor confidence. LCCI President Shad concurred, noting that protecting IP rights is crucial for business growth and that Pakistan’s business community should align with international standards. Shad also committed to collaborating with IPO Pakistan to raise IP awareness among local entrepreneurs and startups, aiming to support innovation and economic advancement.
