IPO Chairperson Farukh Amil Urges Agriculturalists to Focus on Intellectual Property Rights


Islamabad: During a visit to the University of Agriculture in Peshawar, Farukh Amil, Chairperson of the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) Pakistan, emphasized the importance for agriculturalists to prioritize intellectual property rights, particularly in the field of Agri-Tech.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Chairperson Amil met with Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Jehan Bakht and senior faculty members to discuss the integration of intellectual property management in agriculture. He highlighted the critical challenges facing the sector, including climate change, water scarcity, and the pressures of a growing population, all of which pose significant threats to national economic security.



The Vice Chancellor stressed the necessity for enhanced collaboration between the university and IPO-Pakistan and extended an invitation for Amil to further engage with both students and faculty. This partnership aims to foster innovation and safeguard the intellectual property generated within the agricultural sector.
