IPC Committee Reviews Coordination Efforts and Sports Initiatives in Islamabad Meeting

Islamabad: Today, the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), chaired by Mr. Sana Ullah Khan Mastikhel, convened to assess the workings and impact of the Ministry of IPC and its related departments, with a focus on enhancing coordination and policy uniformity across federal and provincial levels.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the session in Committee Room 7 included detailed briefings from the Secretary of IPC on the ministry’s coordination role as per the Rules of Business 1973, touching on economic, cultural, and administrative collaborations between various government tiers. The committee reviewed activities from the Pakistan Sports Board, Department of Tourist Services, and other entities, discussing recent international MOUs and initiatives aimed at boosting sports and tourism.

Key discussions included updates on human resources and budget allocations within the Ministry and its departments, with a specific focus on sports infrastructure and achievements, including the celebration of an Olympic gold medal by Mr. Arshad Nadeem. The committee issued directives for detailed reporting on the Pakistan Sports Board’s governance and past decisions, and called for the revitalization of the National Internship Program, inactive since 2019.

Further inquiries were made into the selection and performance of the Federal Land Commission’s leadership, with a recommendation to align the Council of Common Interest under the IPC Ministry’s oversight. Concerns were also raised about the delayed rule-setting for the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council, prompting a call for expedited finalization.
