Int’l Labour Day: Journalist bodies stress need for protecting rights of media workers

Islamabad, April 30, 2023 (PPI-OT):Journalist bodies have emphasised on protecting rights of media workers, especially job protection, security of life, while performing professional duty and availability of other socio-economic benefits as admissible to other labour class.

In an exclusive interaction with Radio Pakistan’s Correspondent Javed Iqbal, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Afzal Butt said PFUJ is committed to safeguard rights of the media workers, who have a cardinal role in raising voice for the entire labour class of the society.

In connection with the International Labour Day to be marked on Monday, Afzal Butt said a rally will be organized in the federal capital to create awareness for the rights of labourers, including media persons, in Pakistan and around the world.
