Mumbai, September 13, 2023 (PPI-OT): The administration has suspended internet services in the wake of violent anti-Muslim wave in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
According to Kashmir Media Service, at least one person was killed and ten others were injured when Hindutva people clashed with Muslims and set on fire multiple houses in Pusesavali area in Satara district of the state.
A person from Pusesvali allegedly made some objectionable posts on the social media which sparked ire and led to the clashes with stone-pelting and stone-throwing incidents, leading to a tense situation.
One person was killed and ten more hurt in the violence which included stone-pelting and attacks with sticks and rods. Two persons connected with posting an objectionable post as their status message have been reportedly detained by the police.
The administration has suspended the internet services in Satara district.
Eyewitnesses said that a violent mob of over a thousand Hindutva goons went berserk and targeted houses, business establishments and handcarts of Muslims in the area. The mob set fire to houses and resorted to vandalism.
