International Sailing Regatta Sets Sail In Karachi

Karachi: Karachi Harbor is hosting sailors from across the globe as the 2nd Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) International Sailing Regatta 2025 commenced on September 23rd. The competition, inaugurated by Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, Commander Karachi, at PNS RAHBAR, will continue until September 27th.

Nineteen competitors from five nations – Egypt, Iran, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand – are participating alongside Pakistani sailors. Vice Admiral Abbasi welcomed the international participants, emphasizing the role of athletics, especially sailing, in promoting peace, collaboration, and maritime understanding. He reiterated the Pakistan Navy’s dedication to enhancing international relationships through such events.

The five-day regatta will see races in Laser Standard/ILCA 7, Laser Radial/ILCA 6, and Windsurfing RSX categories. The event provides a stage for athletes to display their abilities and promotes aquatic sports. The opening ceremony was attended by officials, dignitaries, organizers, sponsors, competitors, and media representatives.
