International Exercise Barracuda-XII Demonstrates Maritime Capabilities in North Arabian Sea

Islamabad, The sea phase of the International Exercise Barracuda-XII, a significant maritime drill, was conducted today in the North Arabian Sea. The exercise was attended by Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Maqbool Baqar as the Chief Guest, who observed the proceedings onboard the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency Ship KASHMIR.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the exercise showcased the combined maritime capabilities of various national stakeholders, including the Pakistan Navy, the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), the Pakistan Air Force, and others. Key aspects of the exercise included containment of oil spills, search and rescue operations, and anti-piracy maneuvers, demonstrated by Pakistan Navy and PMSA aircraft, Pakistan Navy and PAF helicopters, as well as PMSA ships.

The drills were monitored by fifteen foreign observers and representatives from various national stakeholders. The foreign observers lauded the efforts of all involved, especially highlighting the contributions of the Pakistan Navy and PMSA in preparing for maritime disasters.

International Exercise Barracuda-XII is primarily focused on Marine Oil Spill exercises, aiming to boost the capacity and proficiency of national stakeholders in combating sea pollution. This exercise underscores Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining maritime security and environmental safety in the region.
