Islamabad, October 19, 2021 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says sustained international engagement is essential in view of the evolving economic situation in Afghanistan. In a telephonic conversation with his Iranian counterpart Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian, he expressed the hope that international community would ramp up provision of humanitarian assistance on urgent basis, in view of the upcoming winter season.

Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdollahian invited Shah Mahmood Qureshi to participate in the second Ministerial meeting of the neighbouring countries of Afghanistan, to be held in Tehran next week. Shah Mahmood Qureshi emphasized that close coordination is essential to help Afghanistan on path to peace, stability and development.
