Islamabad, Today marks the International Day of UN Peacekeepers, a day dedicated to recognizing the efforts of UN peacekeeping forces in promoting global peace. The theme for this year’s observance is “Fit for the future, building better together.”
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement emphasizing Pakistan’s significant contributions to UN peacekeeping missions. The statement highlighted the dedication and skill of Pakistani peacekeepers in advancing the UN’s mission and their ongoing efforts to uplift local communities in conflict-affected areas. It also commemorated the 171 Pakistani soldiers, including 27 officers, who have lost their lives in the line of duty during UN peacekeeping operations, underscoring their sacrifice for global peace.
