Islamabad, The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is being observed today, commemorating a United Nations General Assembly resolution from 1977.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, relayed a statement from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, highlighting the critical situation in Gaza. Guterres emphasized the humanitarian catastrophe faced by Palestinians in the region, with nearly 1.7 million people displaced from their homes.
The Secretary-General called for unrestricted access to essential aid, the release of all hostages, the protection of civilians, and adherence to international humanitarian law. This day serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges and the need for global solidarity with the Palestinian people.
