International Day in Memory of Earthquake Victims Commemorated Worldwide

ISLAMABAD: The International Day in Memory of the Victims of Earthquakes is being observed today, honoring those who lost their lives in devastating seismic events. The day serves as a solemn reminder of the catastrophic impacts of earthquakes and the importance of preparedness and resilience.

According to Radio Pakistan, since 1900, there have been at least 12 major earthquakes, each resulting in the loss of more than 50,000 lives. The observance of this day highlights the need for continued efforts to improve earthquake preparedness and response mechanisms globally, as well as to support and rebuild affected communities.
