International Conference on CPEC Stresses Global Cooperation and Regional Development

Islamabad: The International Conference on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), convened in Islamabad, brought together global experts and policymakers to discuss the corridor’s strategic significance and transformative potential for regional and international collaboration. Themed “CPEC: Enhancing Community with a Shared Future for Mankind,” the conference emphasized the project’s role in advancing regional connectivity and socio-economic development.

According to Press Information Department, the event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Communication University, Beijing, and the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, lauded CPEC’s impact on the industrial sector and technological advancements through collaboration with China. Ambassador Jiang Zaidong of China reiterated the commitment to peaceful cooperation under the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, highlighting CPEC’s accomplishments including significant investments and job creation in Pakistan.

The conference covered the achievements of CPEC’s Phase I and outlined the ambitious goals for Phase II, which focuses on expanding growth corridors, enhancing livelihoods, fostering innovation, promoting green development, and boosting regional connectivity. Key discussions revolved around agricultural modernization, technological cooperation, and infrastructural enhancements, with a strong emphasis on the socio-economic benefits expected from these initiatives.
