Interior Minister Unveils Five New Initiatives to Transform Islamabad into a Model City

Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced a comprehensive plan to enhance the infrastructure and services in Islamabad, aiming to set a standard for urban development. The plan includes the establishment of five new initiatives: Capital Emergency Services, Capital Waste Management Company, Capital Safe City Authority, Central Business District, and Capital Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA).

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a visit to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters in Islamabad, Minister Naqvi outlined the objectives of these initiatives, which are designed to improve the living conditions of the city’s residents. The Capital Emergency Services will merge existing ambulance, fire brigade, and rescue services to streamline operations and improve response times. Additionally, the number of ambulances will be increased to enhance service delivery.

The establishment of the Capital Waste Management Company and Capital Safe City Authority aims to address the city’s waste management challenges and enhance public safety. The Central Business District is intended to boost economic activities in the capital, while Capital WASA will focus on improving water and sanitation services.

Minister Naqvi also met with the staff of Ambulance Service 1122 and the Fire Brigade, emphasizing the importance of diligence and efficiency in their duties to realize his vision of making Islamabad a model city for others to emulate.
