Interior Minister Sets Ambitious Deadlines for Islamabad Infrastructure Projects

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited key infrastructure projects in Islamabad on Thursday, issuing directives aimed at accelerating their completion. During his inspection of the F-8 Jinnah Avenue Interchange and F-10 Roundabout expansion projects, he emphasized adherence to high standards and set ambitious deadlines for their completion.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Naqvi called for the F-8 Jinnah Avenue Interchange flyover to open to traffic by the second week of February. This comes after the successful completion of an underpass in just 42 days. He urged authorities to expedite construction while maintaining quality, along with continuing beautification efforts around the sites.

The Minister noted the completion of base slabs for the flyover’s box girder and directed that landscaping and horticulture work be finished within the designated timeframe. Similarly, he reviewed the F-10 Roundabout expansion project, with instructions to complete it by the first week of February.

Naqvi highlighted the expected benefits of these projects, which include easing traffic congestion and providing smoother travel. The initiatives are projected to save citizens time and fuel along the signal-free corridor. During the visit, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority, Mohammad Ali Randhawa, provided a briefing on the current progress.
