Interior Minister Reassures Stability Amid Political Concerns Over IPP Policy


Islamabad: In a recent address to the media, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi provided reassurances regarding the stability of the government amidst ongoing debates over Independent Power Producers (IPPs). The discussion follows comments from Khalid Mahmood Siddiqui that raised issues concerning the current IPP policy.



According to Press Information Department, Naqvi disclosed that these concerns were not only raised with the Prime Minister but were also a topic of discussion with the Federal Minister for Energy. He reassured that the government is actively addressing the reservations expressed by the MQM and others involved. The Minister highlighted the initiation of a consultation process by the Prime Minister aimed at resolving these policy issues effectively.



Naqvi emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining political stability and continuing the nation’s progress and development. In response to a question about potential negotiations with PTI founder, Naqvi remarked on the unpredictability of such political engagements, suggesting that such decisions rest solely in unforeseen circumstances.
